The Brief

Our brief was to rebrand the second biggest direct-to-consumer supplier of boilers and air conditioning in the UK into the ‘smart home systems’ company, helping them move beyond boiler installation and into the world of consumer tech. We then established a storytelling platform of #NeverCompromise to cement the values of innovation, service and trust.

Action

To get BOXT into consumer publications that people read every day, we tapped into the media’s weather agenda, introducing the next-day delivery air conditioning service during the heatwaves, with a back-to-basics press office approach. In winter, targeted reviews of the tech-enabled boiler systems were placed within equitable tech titles to further cement the innovation and smart home systems positioning.

Alongside a suite of tech-led imagery for the brand, we undertook a series of partnerships with like-minded tech and lifestyle ambassadors to tell the brand and product story through an expert lens. These creators delivered dedicated first-person reviews to establish further stand-out from the competition. The resulting content was then amplified via BOXT's social channels as part of a refreshed social content strategy.

Impact

As part of our ongoing product-placement programme, we negotiated 20 full-length top tier reviews about the BOXT smart boiler product and service experience in Ideal Home, Real Homes, Good Housekeeping, Metro, The Sun, Gizmodo, Forbes, The Independent, House & Garden and House Beautiful. Monthly creative news generation has also kept BOXT front-of-mind with consumers and its founders are seen as an expert source of advice stories about smart homes. Over a six-month period BOXT moved from page 8 to page 1 on Google, thanks to editorial content on websites with a high domain authority.

Content from tech, lifestyle and renovation YouTubers was repurposed across BOXT social channels and generated over 500 sales of boilers within a one-month period - the firm’s most successful sales generating activity in 2020.
