The Up.co

Tracking the tastes of a nation—

The Brief

Up.co is the parent company of ChargedUp, CleanedUp and ServedUp - innovative tech designed to upgrade the hospitality and retail sector. Founders of Up.co, Hugo Tilmouth and Charlie Baron, developed new solutions to deliver a better way of working, socialising and staying safe in the post pandemic era. We were briefed to focus on ServedUp, the UK’s fastest mobile order to table and pay system, and the branch of the company that was expanding as we came out of lockdown. ServedUp, not only helped us through COVID-19 but assisted in helping our lives return to normal. Our task was to raise awareness of this B2B and B2C company with the regular consumer.

Action

We worked with ServedUp to mine the insightful data from their digital platform to create enticing stories for consumers, such as calculating how many Sunday Roasts were served throughout England on the first Sunday out of lockdown. This method worked well for ServedUp and we continued to mine data throughout the year crafting another piece on how the nation is divided up by its regional snack choices. We worked with our graphics team to create a visual representation of the regional snack divide on an infographic map to accompany and bolster the media package for publications.

In addition, we publicised one of the brilliant ServedUp and Gordon’s deals funded by Diageo. We outreached to all different types of deals, lifestyle and food & drink media with this story. Securing coverage across major tier one titles.

Impact

The success from our different data stories was shown through the amount of high quality coverage we secured with 128 pieces in total. The data stories were a real winner with the regional wires, and this amounted to large brand visibility within local communities. For the ServedUp x Gordon’s Gin piece, we secured the Evening Standard, The Sun and Wales Online with the aim of increasing traffic to specific pubs which housed the deal. They sold out of the offer within a week.
